Hot! Hot! Hot!

... I like it hot, hot, hot! I created a Pinterest Board for all my hot finds! Click Here to check it out &  Follow. I have quickly become a "Pin-addict". I love Pinterest and spend way too much time there!
Here's one of my recent concoctions, I mean recipes I am sharing and adding to my Board.

I'm calling it "Maui Ouiweee"  or "Kilauea in a Pineapple Patch" or "Make me Hula" hahaha
Please let me know what your favorite name is and if you try it, please let me know!  I may start working on my 2nd Hot Pepper cookbook.  I write them, do the art work, print them, bind them & give them away, ...who knows maybe one day I'll put one in a shop.

2 large Serrano peppers
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp citric salt (I didn't have limes but if I did I'd have used 1/2 lime)
1 1/2 tbsp. srirracha
1 can of crushed pineapple
1 cup fresh cherry tomatoes
I used the emersion blender on the peppers, garlic & tomatoes, then mixed into the crushed pineapple with remaining ingredients. It's hard to stop eating it!

Just listed some New Holiday Designed Embroidered Coasters in my Shenanagans Shop.  So far these are turning out to be "hot" items! You know I couldn't resist that. haha
All joking aside I am pleasantly surprised how much people like these.  I have given them as gifts and have sold quite a few sets already. It makes me feel good when people like what I do, I get a little kindred spirit feeling.  I am working on some new cuff bracelets.  I'm such a "Plain Jane" that it's hard for me to go over the top and I've been told I need to go over the top with them!
I'll post them when they are finished.
Create A Great Day!

Splash!

I'm off to meet up with my best friends in San Simeon in just a few days. Going to  the beach! Splash! We are going to tour Hearst Castle and spend some quality time together, spending the whole week down there. We are spending 2 days at the Castle. They have been very ill & Praises to God for their current health & us being able to get together. I am so excited to see them. I am hoping to get lots of inspiration at the beach, lungs full of salt air & sandy toes.
She is bringing me an attachment to my embroidery sewing machine that will enable me to download thousands of free embroidery designs and if that wasn't enough she embroidered me a tapestry! I can't wait to see it! Here is a picture of it, although I don't know what colors she used yet, that's a surprise. She did say that the thread looks like silk so it's gotta be gorgeous no matter what color it is. It was fashioned after a tapestry in the Palace of Versailles by Anitagoodesign. It's going to look so good in my woodsy home and it will be treasured most of all because it was made with lots of love for me.

I just finished another "Little Swimmer" I get lots of requests for these! I just listed her in my Etsy shop.  I also finished a few mermaids one a commission. When I get back home I plan to list lots of pieces on Ebay to make room for more & de-stash my studio, it looks like a craft bomb exploded in there! Have a wonderful week!

A Crewel Fasination...

...a few months ago, before things went sideways around here, I became fasinated with crewel work.  Years ago I spent many hours after work doing hand embroidery & I'd love to do some now, but I just tried my hand at free motion machine embroidery and now I'm hooked! I have to start my Christmas list. I started this painting in January and hope to get it finished this week. Here are all my  Crewel Cravings:

Work In Progress
"Crewel Intentions"
18 x 24
I am not quite happy with her expression on the left side yet and have lots of work to do on the crewel pattern & wings as well.  She is going to be hard to part with.

Oh I wish you could see these Bohemian beauties in person. The photos don't do them justice. I just listed them in my Etsy Shop as well as some other hand painted shoes!

Machine Embroidery on Jeans
As you can see I need some practice, but I have to say I did better than I thought I would! There is something very soothing sewing back & forth in little tiny motions. I can't wait to do more.

Like my original design? Just right click on the design and print.   You are welcome to use it for personal projects, but please do not use this crewel pattern on any projects that are to be sold.

Back to Business

What? It's almost the end of the month. I have been so busy! It's good to be busy but I have been feeling a little overwhelmed the last few weeks. I am listing some paintings on Ebay with low starting bids. I just listed this mermaid with a starting bid of just $20! Click on the picture to make your bid. I am cleaning out my studio so I will be listing a few more.

I finished a few paintings for the gallery class I will be teaching. Simple and easy. More than a few people have expressed an interest in buying a tutorial painting class to see & learn how I paint. So I tried to make a video of myself giving a class. Oh geez!! I can't do it. I want to but unless I stay totally out of the picture or wear a bag over my head it's not going to happen! The unknown artist instead of the unknown comic! hahaha I'm too shy for my own good. I'm going to work on it though!

I am revamping my studio to make room to sew. I used to sew all the time but haven't touched a machine in years. I am having so much fun "painting" with thread. Free-motion sewing using they embroidery or darning part of the machine is so much fun. I'm not really good at it yet. Here is the first thing I have done. It's going to be a pillow cover. I didn't use stabilizer so it puckered more than I thought it would. If you care to try this be sure to use interfacing or stabilizer, or double the fabric so that you won't get the puckers. I love the look of it, like a pencil drawing. I have a long list of pillows like this I want to make.

Time, juggle, juggle, juggle...

Create a great day!
