Through The View Finder...

...Can you pass by a ViewMaster, an old Stereoscope, ViewFinders without taking a peek inside? I can't!! I have to peek!  I especially love finding an antique photo viewer, I have to pick it up.  Moving pictures? Even better!!  Those machine that you pay a nickel to watch moving pictures...get me my change purse!
These little Zendoodles/Zentangles Girls are done in red ink & watercolor. I darken the edges to make them appear as though they are futuristic antiques as seen through a ViewFinder.  All are up for auction, just click on the above page link to place a bid.  I am working on a larger piece like the hollyhocks. I'm having fun with these! When I start I never know how they are going to turn out.

Back to Black...

...Painting my little women; starting with a black canvas and letting them come to life with out drawing or planning, like my Aura Angels in the past, is as comforting as a hot bowl of Chickin' & Dumplin's and a lot less calories & carbs.  I almost felt like my old self today painting these, then felt a little lost.  Since I haven't been able to paint much the past 2 years, maybe I've been forcing it when I sit down to paint, maybe I've been drawing too much, maybe thinking too much, maybe getting too squirreled by new things.... I look at the pieces I did today and they make me feel good. It looks like they are doing all the thinking for me. hahaha They are a little wonky, scratchily scrubbed, rough brushed (my brushes are in desperate shape & calling me all kinds of names).  They were soothing yet exciting, in an unwrapping a present really slow kind of way. Well not too slowly because I didn't spend a lot of time on them or fret over them. They are all small. 2 ACEOs, 4 x 4" & 6 x 5".  A few I like better than others but each one was a journey.  I actually started a few more with different colored backgrounds who knows how many I will do.

Actually all my drawing/doodling wasn't in vain because I came up with an easy method of drawing/painting faces using circles.  It fires up my right brain and I start seeing people's faces in circles, ovals, oblongs, soft squares, etc...  hahaha I think it's might be good for a beginner portrait artist or experienced artist who just want to have fun and try something new.  I plan to start working on a tutorial for that as soon as I find out how to properly do a tutorial.  I have seen many Artist selling their tutorials or classes, however, I have never purchased a tutorial from anyone so I don't know if they use pictures or videos.

Create a great day!

Finish What I Started...

... sometimes I have a real problem finishing what I start before starting something else. Sooner or later I get them done or completely ruin them and start over or toss it, chalking it up to experience. I have been working on these 2 pieces for the past month in pieces at a time. I am hoping to finish one this week and hopefully sell one before going down to Long Beach the first week of June to spend some time with my bff. She is going to the doctor today to have a biopsy on some lumps in her neck. Your prayers for Bobbi would be greatly appreciated.
I started this one at the beginning of the month. I think it's going to be one of my favs when it's done.
Started this one in March... I was splattering paint while watching my little Bubbie. He says thanks for showing me a new way to paint Amma! hahaha  I think I'm in trouble now and may need a tarp. We have a lot of fun painting together and I think he is pretty talented even if he is only 5. oops excuse me 5 & 1/2. haha
I'm almost finished with this one, a little more work...
and I'm still adding paint to this one when I think about her...
Have a wonderful week!
