I Live On the Edge...

...   of a Miwok Indian reservation,  the American River, "Gold Country",  the Sierras, hilly country sides dotted here & there with rambling vineyards, tall pines, redwoods, scrub oaks and apple orchards.  Lately,  I have been so drawn to native American Indian designs, especially if it's campy ala vintage summer camp.  (BTW I am a proud daughter of a  Potawatomi Indian. ) I started a board on Pinterest called Pow Wow and started some little paintings  (below) reflecting my home now and my family.   I am working on a piece for this year's Twitter Art Exhibit in Norway. I may send one of these.  It sure feels good to paint again, to lose all my worries in paint. Hours melt into hours.
Some of these little ones remind me of deer hunters who sit in the trees for hours.  A few have river water with river rock. One not shown has a sweet bird on a branch I can't wait to paint.  I'm not sure how many I have drawn but it's a lot as well as a large canvas so I have lots of painting to do.  I am still working on some little pieces from the Love is a Blanket series too with vintage fabrics.
 Pieces In Progress
Yarn is like comfort food to me. Whenever I am going through a stressful time I always end up with a bag of yarn & needles in my hand.  I learned to crochet when I was 7 yrs old and I still love it. (I used to fashion my own Troll Doll clothes.)  So I have been crocheting away, making some of these "pow wow" slippers using up my shameful stash of new & vintage yarn.  You can find a pair at "Camp Shenanagans"!  haha  I have an expert cross stitcher/needleworker ready to work with me so order away!   They are so happy on your feet and warm too!

"Drowning In Yarn"...

... That's the name of my new piece.  This is a painting of one of the pieces I drew in the Little Pages video a few posts back. Click HERE to watch the video. This is the 2nd one I've done and may be the last that I paint on canvas. I may start painting them on paper instead.  I love painting on paper now and I used to be so afraid of it because it isn't very forgiving.  These portraits are quirky,  not as quirky as my clowns but a little quirky. I may not paint all of the pieces I drew in the video but definitely a few more.
I painted this one because it was one of my favorite drawings in the group. I sketched it because I recently had to remove all the huge Space Bags full of yarn out of my studio and into my guest bedroom to make room for new sewing machines & room to sew.  I have the big Spaces Bags full, one for reds & pinks, one for greens, one for blues, ... then there are the bags of "UFO's" (un-finished objects) or here's a good one "PIGS" (projects in grocery sacks) hahaha . I have bags of things that are finished, ready for packaging, or some just done to work out patterns, or just for fun, nowhere to go.  Oops I shouldn't fail to mention the human body sized basket trunk full next to my recliner.  I thought I'm drowning in yarn... hey but what a way to go! Could I go buy more yarn? Why yes, yes I could! * In my head as I just typed Why yes,  Anthony Bourdain's voice was resounding in my head as though he was questioned if he could eat more pork. haha My Mom keeps telling, just this morning in fact, of all the things she is knitting and new knitting patterns she is trying with a beautiful soft & delicate yarn.  It's so tempting to stop what I'm doing to pick up some needles, but I am resisting, I'm painting about it instead!
In addition to painting on canvas I am experimented with paint on fabric.
Can't wait to show you what I am doing! So stay tuned...
~God Bless & Create a great day~

I Couldn't Cut It...

...the designer jackets that is.  I purchased 2 beautiful designer blazer/jackets; a Ralph Lauren & a Calvin Klein with full intentions of cutting into them to reconstruct them into awesome steampunk creations with bussles and all but I couldn't do it. I'd pick up the scissors and then chicken out.  One was brand new never worn and the other was in pristine condition. They are a little too tight for me. boo So I listed them for the outrageously low price I bought them for.  If you'd like check them out click HERE
I have been unable to sit for long but when I am I have been embroidering, sewing, crocheting & knitting. I love these cuffs. I made one for me then thought I would share them. I plan to take a few to the wineries I am surrounded by & maybe a few to the shops that I have things in.

I made these with the delicious yarn I bought in a beautiful yarn shop in San Francisco.
I love the colors, all of my favorites, and they remind me of the wine country.  The yarn is 70% Merino wool & 30% silk so it feels really good to work with and feels really good on. I have some pretty lavender yarn & I may do some in lavender too, what do ya think?
I have been having fun making quilted embroidered coasters which started as a birthday present for a friend & Christmas presents. Yep I have started on Christmas! Have you? I made a few for my place and I love how they look so I listed some in my Etsy Shenanagans shop. The Sashiko Embroidered black coasters are the ones I made for my hubby and I have sold a few sets already! I have also sold a set of musical notes which I made for my guys.
I have to say that I really love the gypsy rose cowgirl boots & of course you know me & hot peppers! I plan on making a set of 8 of those for my hot & spicy dinner parties!
They make great gifts so I plan on doing a Giveaway and will post it in the next week or so. I'll figure it out. Let me know if you think that's a good idea and any pointers on doing a Giveaway would be a great help.

Create a great day!

A Love/Hate Relationship...

... that's what I have with granny squares. I love them, I don't mind making them, it's just the blocking and sewing together I hate. Just like with sewing, if you want something to look nice and go together well, your fabric has to be ironed, so does crochet & knit. I cut out a thin piece of card board or paper the size that your granny square is suppose to be to use as a template. I set my iron to the Acrylic setting with steam. I just secure the pin at each corner first just pushing it into my ironing board cover. I lightly press and steam careful not to scorch or flatten the stitches too much. My iron is great on this setting but if you have any doubts about your iron you should definitely cover with a thin cloth before pressing. If your square is springing back and not remaining blocked, steam again and leave it pinned on the template until it's completely cool and then remove.

See what a difference blocking makes! You can't tell in the pictures but the black yarn used in this project is Vanna White's Glamour yarn "for special occasions" and it has itty bitty sparkles in it. It's really much prettier in person.

I am going to crochet these together instead of sew. I will share the picture of my project when it's all completed! You can see all the squares I have to block! Maybe I'll put some cream on my face and put all this steam on double duty! LOL

Roses Are Red... No Pink...

My hubby & I went on a little mini break for our 35th anniversary for a few days. I'm not as old as that makes me sound. We married when I was a teenager. He took me to my prom. Anyway, he made sure I had a huge tub to soak in and surprised me with these Tea Rose heart soaps. They smell so good, so sweet & old fashioned that they spark a little nostalgia, a scent from the past, from childhood, one of those that seems to be embedded in all of us. He knows me so well. I love it and will enjoy it for a long while, each time, thinking of how sweet & thoughtful he can be & how blessed I really am. I'll take soap over flowers that will wilt in a day or so any day! (That's right. My purple thumb extends out of the garden as well. I never remember to change the water or add that packet of stuff ) I put them in one of my antique rose dishes next to my sink. I'm a sucker for little dishes like these in antique stores & thrift stores. My house is full of men all the time and I'm mostly a tom-boy but I do have a few prissy areas. I like my contemporary cabin but I could be just as happy in an old Victorian. Honestly the guys like prissy stuff more than they will admit. Lingerie, sure, that's a safe one, but the rest... True story, having 2 poodles, a redhead & a blond, when we have them out & about they can get lots of attention, but you know who it comes from? 90% of the time it's from men! Yep! Isn't that funny?! I'm telling on you boys! hahaha I once approved a home loan for a headbanging dark rocker, a guitarist in one of the worlds most famous bands and he had purchased a home just outside of Ventura with the prettiest frilliest prissy pink bathroom you ever saw. He sent signed 8 x 10s for all my guys after escrow closed. Every time I see them I think of his bathroom. He doesn't scare me. hahaha

I made this stroller or car seat baby blanket yesterday start to finish. It's knitted & crocheted. I'm not showing the whole thing because it's a gift. I am way behind on my baby gifts that need to be made. I have several more to make. Everyone is having babies! I bought the Ultimate Sweater Machine a few weeks ago. I have had a Brother knitting machine in the past and this one is not as nice but it does a good job as long as you take your time, pull the yarn at the beginning of each row and keep the edges and piece properly weighted & pulled with hooks & bands. Once you get your groove it knits very fast, just don't get carried away and forget to tighten the hooks & bands. I think everyone is getting something knitted for Christmas whether they like it or not! hahahaha

A Big Shout Out & Thank you goes to AnnabelleArts, LimeZinnias, JCStrong & LuLusApple for featuring my art in their fantastic Etsy Treasuries! Click on their names to visit their Etsy Shops. Everyone's support of my art means a great deal to me!

A handsome clerk asked us this weekend what it takes to be married for so long. Our answer was humor & ability to say you're sorry - I said humor because I knew he'd make a smart remark, like saying sorry, haha I'm laughing. LOL. Later we found ourselves still thinking about that question and we decided that the secret is love ♥, of course, humor, respect, ability to say you're sorry and real forgiveness. Not necessarily in that order. :) Next month is another anniversary, my blog anniversary! Once again I will be doing a give-away for my Followers.

Crochet ~ Comfort Food Without The Calories

That's what I've been up. All I've wanted to do. I have a shameful amount of yarn *hoarder* that I need to do something with or I won't be able to buy more. *yarn hoarding sickness but in denial* A thought even crossed my mind today of how sad it would be if I did crochet it all up and it was gone. *therapy might help* I know! Seriously! I have it all organized in huge space bags. One full of greens & blues, another reds & oranges, yellows & beige, ... it makes my eyes twinkle to look at it all, just like a palette full of paint. I have been working on a few new designs & things for my Shenanagans Shop, and made a red circle blanket for JJ's new kid size sleigh bed.
I used Lion Brand's Circle in a Square pattern except I made the circles different colors and left the rest of the square bright cherry red. I plan to do a little more embroidery on it in between projects... it will be my ongoing project for a little while. I will post another picture when it's completely finished. I have designed a series of scarves inspired by travel & some of my favorite cities. A little Gypsy don't you think? I do series with my paintings so why not?! These are all one of a kind scarves. A lot of the yarn used is vintage and could be impossible to find. I have also designed a super cute Owl square but have not started the blanket to show it off yet because I discovered & quickly became addicted to Free Form Crochet or Scrumbling as it's often called. The 1st photo in the post header is the Free Form piece I'm working on. Soon to be called "Monterey". I started with Miami in mind but now that it's taking shape it reminds me of the tide pools in Monterey and the beautiful blues & greens of the Pacific. I'll be adding some bling to this one. Free Form crochet is like doing an abstract painting with yarn. I am having so much fun with it. Paint & thread, my 2 favorite things. If you haven't tried it I encourage you to. It gets your creative juices flowing. You can check out some awesome Free Form pieces here at Free Form Crochet. It really gets your right brain in gear! I will be taking step by step photos of my next piece to make a video for my YouTube channel. Below are a few new things at Shenanagans.

Such a Hooker...

That's me lately. I just want yarn and needles in my hands all the time. It's like comfort food without the calories. I created this new super fun & easy crochet hand warmer pattern and listed a few for sell in my Shenanagans shop. I love the vintage yarn I found on one of my treasure hunts, that's what I call my thrift store excursions. It must be from the 70's with the beautiful rust & brown color and is in perfect condition. I love bringing yarn to life that someone kept but never created anything with or gave up on a project but didn't part with it for years. I made a pair for me and are selling a few. There wasn't but 1 skein. I like being able to slip it off my finger & wash my hands without taking them completely off and they are cozy. I made a pair for a friend's daughter in Long Beach and she let me know that she hasn't taken them off and it's been a week! There will only be a few of these in the Universe so if you would like one too, please visit me at Shenanagans! A new customer HomeSchoolHats purchased my hand warmer pattern is now selling her crocheted creations in her shop, she crochets beautifully and has some great colors. Click Here to stop by her shop. Watching crochet videos is a little like watching a golf match. hahaha However, I am grateful for those who teach and I loved learning how to make these little roses! I'll be making some later!

I have so many people to thank. So many have been very kind. I am truly blessed. I hope you take a moment to visit their shops or sites. A Big Shout Out & Thank You goes to Color Coordinated for featuring my art on their fantastic blog & creative Ning! More Big Shout Out's & Thank You's for including my art in beautiful, thoughtful, creative Etsy Treasuries go to Chaotic Cupcake, ThemeFragrance, Poppy Jewelry Shop, Fyrewerks, Indigo Twin, Spirals and Spice, SqueakyBug, CynArt, JoyNStiches, and Mireloom. Your appreciation of my work means so much to me!

Price of Pumpkins...

...We took our little pumpkin to "Daw Naws" (McDonald's) and to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday. $18 for 3 pumpkins! What?! Am I out of touch with reality? Do pumpkins normally cost that much? Well, having all the fun in the maze & around the patch was priceless, but I'm definitely transforming these pumpkins into pies in a week or so!

I hurt my Achilles tendon last weekend so I have been trying to stay off of it as much as possible. Yesterday walking around in the Pumpkin Patch's sandy gravel made it worse. I stayed off of it last night and made 2 little ponchos while sitting there with hubby & baseball game, using up all my bits & pieces. They are were suppose to be 12 month size but they turned out to be 2T or 3T. JJ screamed bloody murder when I tried them on him. Like he instinctively knew they were for a girl! Is that possible at 2 years old? He cried, they fit him, I cried. haha I plan to make more tonight. I am going to buy more yarn, make it smaller, maybe all the same color, and alter the pattern & maybe add a pretty lacy bottom edge. I'm going to send these to my other little niece, I'm sure these will be cute with a little pairs of jeans or jean skirt besides the blue & green will be so cute with her dark hair. I studied the picture they provided today, it shows only 8 rows with a border unlike the pattern. No worries though, these work up so fast and are fun to make plus I used my bits & pieces, so both of my nieces may end up with lots of them! I've got a huge space bag full of bits & pieces! I'll post a picture of the pattern I make.

A Big Shout Out & Thank You goes to Vital Temptation Designs for featuring my art in her great Etsy Treasury. Click on her name to visit her shop full of scrumptious crochet & needlework!

Not "Boar-ing" & Seriously Silly!

I made something seriously silly while watching the Super Bowl. My son asked me what I was making and I told him clothes for my Tabasco bottle! hahaha His eyes rolled but he wasn't surprised. hahaha If you know me you know how I love hot sauces! This is silly yes, a little cheesy yes, a little retro yes, cute....well... I think it's pretty cute. I had enough white crochet thread to make 2 of them. I never leave sauces out on the counters, I have an entire cabinet dedicated to hot sauces, but this bottle might have to stay on the counter. Actually I'm thinking I might have to make a few more and get every flavor of Tabasco and have a cute little row of Amigos or Banditos, depending on the hotness! haha My kitchen is already a little stranger than most. I have roosters, bees, black bears, copper & wine/grape things in there but somehow it does all come together. I don't see why these won't fit right in! I may leave off the serape, I think they are just as cute w/o it.

My son brought home some wild boar sausage that was given to him by a friend. I cooked it this weekend with some cabbage & onions and boy was it good! They used sweet italian spices in it. We all loved it. My son & I also made some cheese this weekend. With a house full of Foodies it's never "boar-ing" around here. haha. A Big Shout Out goes to Sandy's Cape Cod Originals who included my Christ painting in her wonderful Etsy Treasury! As it turns out you will find some awesome crochet patterns in her Etsy shop. Thank you Sandy!

What A Wonderful Way...

...to start this week! I woke up to find that one of my paintings was featured on the Christian Artist Team Blog . What a sweet surprise and a wonderful post in which to be included in. Thank you! One of my Angels was also featured in this eye-popping Etsy Treasury made by Angelpupscreations. I love her nail & wire crosses.

This weekend I worked on a crocheted baby blanket for my niece. She's having a girl and this is not the typical pink baby blanket. I feel bad I didn't have it finished in time to mail for her baby shower, but better late than never. You know how I love bees..... I searched for a bee pattern but couldn't find any that I thought would work so I had to make this one up. I think they came out pretty cute if I say so myself. I'm thinking it needs a few flowers here & there as well. The blanket itself is made of black & white strips that crochet up really fast. I am pleased how this is turning out and I hope she likes it. In May there is a Bee Gallery Opening/Benefit which I plan to be participating in. If I have time I may make another one for that show as well as a painting & my bee zines.
I ate oriental food all weekend. Just craving it. I even stayed up late last night painting this piece! I am selling prints of it in my Etsy Shop. Looking at this piece today makes me want to eat some more! I treasure my memories of living in Japan, although as a child I didn't eat sushi. My favorite thing was the animal shaped pancakes filled with sweet red beans that they had at every festival. I had so much fun painting this that I may paint some more. In addition to craving oriental food on my plate, I'm craving sage green on my palette. Maybe it's the weather, gray skies, wintry muted colors? Don't worry I'll snap out of it. haha

Oh If You Could Hear Me Today...

... I sound like a sexy drag queen! LOL I called my son today and the kid that answered the phone said to him "I think it might be your mom but I'm not sure..." LOL I got it and it's awful. Coughing feels like razor blades in my chest. Ouch. Today I am feeling a little better but I was hoping I'd feel a lot better. I wanted to go to a life drawing session with a live model this morning. I didn't make it. I told my mom yesterday that I wanted to go. She asked if it was a male model. I told her yes. She said with a spark in her voice " Oh you'll be better! You'll be better tomorrow!" So honestly I think my mom will be more disappointed that I didn't go than I am. hahaha She's funny.

If you know me, you know I can't just sit and do nothing, so while I've been tangled in a blanket, with my pj's on, bare faced, hair barely brushed, in a recliner with tv tray by my side, I did lots of sketches and managed to make an easy crochet scarf. I'm not really crazy about the yarn. I probably should have used it for slippers instead but whatever. A scarf that normally would take me maybe 2 hours took 3 times that. I would pick it up, put it down, pick it up... It's just 5 rows of triple crochet & approx 2 yards long. It actually looks much better than the picture shows though.
When I have some energy back *zapped* I am going to be working on a few collage pieces on paper to submit for a gallery show in April. The theme will deal with the perils the news paper industry/print media are up against. I thought that was an interesting theme and I have a few ideas in my head. I don't do many pieces on paper so this will be a fun project. April is a busy month for me, lots of birthdays. My wedding anniversary is also in April and I whined the other day about how long it's been since we went to San Francisco, so my husband and I decided to go there for a couple of days for our anniversary. I can't wait. Maybe I'll wear my new scarf!

Tuesday's Altered Thoughts & Toasty Toes

You may have to click on the page to read each one. If you would like to submit an Altered Thought to be displayed on Tuesdays, please see the rules on the right side of page.

I have been crocheting these little slippers at night. A pair only takes about an hour to make start to finish. Maybe less if you are fast. They are super easy and super comfortable. I am using up some of my old yarn. I am ashamed to say how much I have. I'm not changing colors or making them fancy. I go through a bunch of them every winter. When they get yuky I just toss them out. I had bought this yarn when I was making ponchos and selling them a few years ago. Actually sold a lot of them. Too bad they aren't as popular as they were a few years ago. They are fun to make. I have forgotten how I made them. I made up the pattern and don't really remember it now. It may take a while to figure it out again. After I had made a poncho with this beige yarn I hated it. Because it is beige, I thought it made you look a little nude with no arms and I couldn't use it for making hats either! It would make people look bald. hahaha It's not a problem for slippers though and I am glad to finally get rid of some of it. I will start another pair later today and write down the directions as best I can and take pictures. If you would like the directions for these toasty slippers just let me know and I will be happy to send it to you.
**Shortly after this post my husband was called to work the night shift!

Ut Oh I'm Hooked

Again! I have a million things to do and I did nothing but a little housework and lots of crochet today. Last night my son & his fiancee came over and she laid down her things, turned to me holding out her purse & said "Remember this?" It was a cute black crocheted purse with a big crocheted sunflower on the front flap & lined with tiny black & white striped fabric. It took me a minute to realize I had made that! I had made it & gave it to her when she was in high school with my son about 4 yrs ago! I had forgotten it. Then she said that she wants 4 more of them! (hum...maybe Christmas) I have to admit they are really "in" now. I am touched that she still had it! I had made the sunflower with vintage yarn and had forgotten just how cute it was. So I pulled out my big bucket of yarn scrapes and started another one, maybe for myself or maybe for my Etsy store. I have the front done... I don't see anything like them on Etsy. Time is a factor so maybe I'll just write the pattern down & sell that and let those who are also "hooked" make their own. She also asked me if I could make her a scarf with pockets. Personally I thought those were sort of granny garb but what do I know, I am fashion challenged. I had planned to make a cool scarf with a hoodie attached for myself (I love hoodies) & possibly for christmas presents but now that she mentioned pockets...hum... I may have to add those to it. Might be interesting!

I love going into Thrift Stores and finding yarn from days gone by that is in good condition. I usually have to sneak it in the house to avoid my husband's eyes rolling to the back of his head and hearing about how much yarn I already have! Actually with my huge collection of craft things obtained over the years he really hasn't complained much in the scheme of things. When I pull it out to use it I always wonder what plans the person had for it, if they ever finished it, etc... I call my vintage scrap bucket my "Lost Lots". Yarn is dyed in lots and it's very disturbing to be making something, run out of yarn, go get more that says it's the same color only to get it home and realize it doesn't really match. It wasn't dyed in the same lot. I learned my lesson the hard way & now always buy a bit extra just in case. So when buying yarn make sure the "lot" number is the same on all skeins that you buy.

Working on my artist statement for the upcoming gallery shows is driving me crazy. Writing and re-writing. I am not a writer! I don't want it to read too artsy fartsy or too simple either. I am under the gun to get it done too and I sit on the computer, or have a hook or paint brush in my hand. It's the big elephant in my room or a big dark looming cloud over my head. Answering questions like why I paint what I do is hard! What compels me? What does it all mean? Ugh! I wish someone could just write it for me!

The First Step

Yep! I did it. Took the first step and prepared a canvas for my piece in the gallery show Dec 13th. I think I am going to paint gloppy instead of thinly. See what happens. I bought several canvas so if I make a mess of it I'll just start over. The theme of the gallery show is "Gather the Women". I haven't exactly decided what I want to do yet. The canvas is a big one and I may do 2 angels on it. One looking up and one looking down. If I do something crazy, unusual or out of my norm, I would feel like I wasn't being myself, however, I don't want to be like an actor that's typecast in the same role forever either. But hey I have the canvas ready to go the first step has been taken! I finished a blue Aura Angel today and was requested to do 2 more. I also revamped the pinky purple one as well so she's finished.

I would like to give a big shout out to Shadysidefarm at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5385495 for featuring my bee card in her Treasury today. She has wonderful knit & crochet items. I noticed that she sells the crochet cotton dishcloths and I love those! They are the best! One swipe..all clean. They pick up everything! I went to a garage sale once and the woman had put 2 of those out to sell for $.50. I couldn't believe it. Score! But I couldn't find it in myself to practically steal them knowing that they were a treasure! I asked her if she had used them (they were obviously new, just meant those kind of cloths). She told me that someone had made them for her and she hadn't used them. I told her how great they were and she should really give them a try, & she will thank me later, so she took them back in the house! haha I did her a big favor and I truly believe that she was thanking me later. I have a friend that asks for those at Christmas. But if you haven't tried them get yours now at Shadysidefarm! You'll thank me too! LOL So here's the very cool Bee Treasury http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=24847

Friday & I'm Missing All the Fun!

You know that tv commerical where the big ugly bug knocks on the door delivering pizza and wants to put it on the table? Love that commerical. Gives me the creeps but makes me laugh. Well some kind of bug knocked on my door and I must have let it in without knowing! I've got a rotten stomach bug and I'm missing my Swell Sister Knit/Crochet group tonight. I didn't want to spread all this fun around so I didn't go. I've had it a couple of days now. I did manage to crochet a little while sitting in my husband's comfy chair, drinking ginger ale and water . I crocheted some funky rocker, biker, emo, cool wrist warmers with a crocheted ring attached. I listed them on Etsy. The pictures are awful but I just didn't have the engery to do any better at the time. I was looking forward to sharing all the things I have been making to the group tonight. Hopefully it won't be another month until the next meeting. I had been looking forward to it. It's a great bunch of women and so much fun!

I didn't get any painting done the past 2 days. I have a hard wooden chair and big bright light overhead in my studio room. Not too friendly when you're feeling lousy. I do have some ideas floating around in my head which is kind of cool because I usually don't, I just go in and pick up the paints. Today I was contacted by a gallery director who said they would like me to show my art on old LPs! That was quite a compliment!! LPs what a fun thought! I have some old ones that I bought at a thrift store to melt (I gotta try everything) so I'm going to try painting on one! I'll see how it turns out. The gallery is in NY so I would have to mail in my work. I'd love to have the money to go if I was chosen!
So I'm making myself another ginger ale and going to veg out in front of the tv and watch the Olympics!

Sunday Sugar, Sales & Siesta!

I was featured in an Etsy Treasury again! http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=20470 . Thank you Sassalynne! Her shop at Etsy is http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5514188 . I sold a Bee Happy Zine Card on Etsy today, a print yesterday, & 2 paintings on Ebay. So I have lots to mail out tomorrow. I keep saying I'm going to paint and I am determined to get those brushes wet this week, leave the needles alone and get some more things listed!

We went over to my son's this morning and I got lots of baby sugar! He's so sweet & cute. I held him for a good long time. He's a sleepy guy and even sleeps through his feedings which is worrying his mama. My son & husband were putting together some shelving for his room while he was being fed and I slipped out on the patio and got so comfortable on the futon with a little breeze blowing that I had a little siesta! I can't tell you the last time I've had a nap! I'm not a napper at all! Even as a child I didn't nap - my poor mom!

I crocheted a little poncho for my nephew's baby girl while watching a movie last night. I took it over to my son's along with the hat and other things I'd made for him then forgot to bring it home! I also took a picture of JJ in his little hat below and forgot my camera there too! Maybe I was still a siesta head when I was leaving! Or maybe that's what happens when you become a Gramma! haha The hat fits him perfect and he was adorable in it!! It won't fit for too long. I used a pattern for the poncho shown on Uncommon Threads on DIY Network. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows/episode/0,2046,DIY_14255_45942,00.html . I altered the pattern to make it smaller. To make it in a 3 mo size I used a beginning chain of 17 inches & used double crochet instead of treble crochet, except for the bottom scalloped edge. It came out great and was super easy & super fast! So if you crochet & have any little girls in your life this would make a great gift!
